MY UNTOLD EXPERIENCE

      SKILLS REQUIRED IN A MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Mechanical engineering is one one of the most versatile field of engineering. it requires the understanding of the core concept of mechanics, thermodynamics, material and their properties, manufacturing process and tolls like computer aided designing etc.

        Throughout the study of mechanical engineering a student comes across these subjects and learn about the concept involved in them.but when it comes to practical application of these concept and learning most of the students fails. 

          So in this post i would like to introduce the basic skills required in a student to be called as mechanical engineer .

 1.Measurement

A mechanical engineer should be aware of different types of measuring instruments and their use. only with the knowledge of these instruments an engineer could check  whether a given product or equipment is up to mark or is working properly.

 Having a good knowledge of instrument opens the door for the job in quality and inspection department of a firm.  

2.Drawing

Drawing is called as the language of mechanical engineer. so a student must be aware of how to read a drawing , draw it and to understand the various symbols used in it.

 

 If someone is having a good knowledge of drawing and designing there is enormous job for him in designing sector.

3.manufacturing process

A student must be aware of the various manufacturing process and their suitability so that he could employ them when needed.

when working in production sector the knowledge of these manufacturing process is indeed.

4. communication skill

A good communication skill is must for an engineer to covey his ideas to others. it also leads to a good understanding so for a mechanical engineer having a good command on his language and expression power is indeed.  

5.patience and cool attitude

mechanical engineering is job of  great responsibility and working under time bounded

work environment.so having patience and a cool attitude is must for one to succeed in this field.
